A Monkey Among Beautiful Accessories
If you had to guess our state capital based on its characteristic features, renowned motor car brands, a football team that could do with some support again this season, the home of countless tinkerers and thinkers, and lentils with spätzle noodles would all be high on the list. And among those in the know, so would our market hall, which, as the name suggests, is located not far from the market square. The daily hustle and bustle within its ancient walls is reminiscent of a large Mediterranean market that delights the eyes of connoisseurs and non-connoisseurs alike.
It also occupies a very special place in the hearts of our troop of monkeys, because this is where we found our first home: in Merz & Benzing. Leaving aside for a moment the charm of its ancient walls, this traditional department store has become something of an institution in its own right. This is a world in which our Black Forest inhabitant feels right at home. And we would like, if we may, to take this opportunity to express our gratitude: because when our still timid and inexperienced little monkey embarked on his trip, he found his very first place to stay in Stuttgart and, as the saying goes, a monkey never forgets. His host parents, siblings Dorothée Merz and Martin Benzing, together with their whole team, have always given our Monkey 47 a very warm welcome and a beautiful home right from the start, which of course is not all that difficult in such a wonderful environment. So our monkey still feels right at home within these ancient walls steeped in history at the very heart of Stuttgart.
